Abstract

The study aimed to identify the reality of school administration in the Saudi Arabia in practicing its role of students' protection against ideological extremism from the perspective of school principals in the light of contemporary challenges. It also aimed to identify the essential roles to be met by secondary school administration in Saudi Arabia in confronting ideological extremism in light of contemporary challenges. It also explore the question of how the reality of school administration practicing its role in preventing students from ideological extremism according to variables of the study including (type, specialty, years of experience, training, qualification and the type of job). It also aimed to explore obstacles preventing by school administration playing its role against ideological extremism. To achieve the objective study, descriptive approach was utilized by applying a questionnaire to a random sample of 129 individuals from school principals and deputy principals in Qassim secondary schools. The study found that the most important roles that the basic qualities required for the school administration came as a large extent, while school administration practicing its role of students' protection against intellectual extremism were moderate. There was no different from the reality of school administration practicing its role of students' protection against intellectual extremism for all study variables except for type job (School Principal, Deputy).
