Work Stress and Its Relationship to Psychological Resilience among Faculty Members at Umm Al-Qura and Al-Baha Universities

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between work stress and psychological resilience among faculty members at Umm Al-Qura and Al-Baha universities. The two scales of work stress and psychological resilience (prepared by the researcher) were applied to 93 faculty members. The results concluded that work stress of the sample was moderate, and psychological resilience was high, and there were no differences in work stress according to the variables of university, college, gender, and academic degree. However, there are significant differences in work stress according to the variable of nationality in favor of Saudis. Furthermore, there are no differences in psychological resilience according to the variables of university, nationality, gender, and academic degree, while there are significant differences according to the variable of college in favor of literary colleges. Finally, there is a significant inverse correlation between stress and psychological resilience.
