The Degree of Achieving the Language Activities of Alignment Between University Education Outcomes and Labor Market Requirements in the Bachelor of Arabic Language Program from the Viewpoints of Teaching Staff Members at King Khalid University

The study aimed to identify the degree of achieving the language activities of alignment between university education outcomes and labor market requirements in the Bachelor of Arabic Language Program from the viewpoints of the teaching staff members in the Arabic language departments at King Khalid University. To achieve this goal, the researcher used the descriptive survey method by applying a questionnaire to a sample of 67 teaching staff members in the Arabic language departments at King Khalid University. The questionnaire included six axes: requirements related to communication skills, requirements related to thinking skills, requirements related to scientific research skills, requirements related to the learning process and skills, administrative job requirements, and requirements related to practical field application. The main research findings included that the degree to which language activities achieve an alignment between university education outcomes and labor market requirements from the teaching staff members’ viewpoints ranged from "strongly agree" to "agree". Requirements related to communication skills came in first in terms of the degree of approval, but the axis of requirements related to administrative job skills came in last in terms of the degree of approval. The study concluded with recommendations and suggestions that included emphasizing the inclusion of language activities in the curricula for teaching Arabic Language at the university level to meet the requirements of labor market, emphasizing the comprehensive design of language activities to include all aspects of labor market requirements mentioned in the study, and the importance of working with employment agencies and institutions and the labor market with regard to determining the requirements of the labor market and including them in the curricula of teaching Arabic language at the university level.
