Hadiths that Ibn Majah judged as strange and unique in his Book Sunan Ibn Majah. Collection and study.Imam Ibn Majah is considered one of the Imams of hadith who served the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammed. One of his most important books is his book Al-Sunan in which the features of modern and critical craftsmanship appeared in him. He handled the narrators and the narrations, and weakened many hadiths. This includes hadiths that he explicitly declared as strange and unique in his book, Al-Sunan. The importance of the research comes from the status of Imam Ibn Majah and his book, Sunan, and that what distinguishes his book is the abundance of strange things, and that the hadiths mentioned in the research have not received a study that highlights them and clarifies their causes and Ibn Majah’s purposes in their mention. The research aims to collect these hadiths, document study and examine them, comparing them with the statements of critics and hadith scholars; and trying to know what Imam Ibn Majah meant by using this term. The research was conducted according to an inductive, analytical, and deductive approach, and reached a number of results, the most important of which are:
- Some of these hadiths were deemed strange by Ibn Majah alone, and none of the critics referred to their strangeness.
- The hadiths that Ibn Majah deemed strange because of his sheikhs are five hadiths.
- It turned out that the hadiths in the study are defective, and this clarifies that what Ibn Majah meant by using the term “strangeness” is mostly defective hadiths.
