Counseling Self-Efficacy Among Psychological, Educational Counselor Trainees in View of Some Variables

This study aimed to identify the level of counseling self-efficacy among master's and doctoral students specialized in guidance and counseling psychology who are trained as counselors, the research also aimed to detection the differences in counseling self-efficacy which due to some variables (sex of the counselor, place of training, number of days of training, previous counseling experience), and aimed to verify the psychometric properties of the Arab counseling self-efficacy scale prepared in the current study. Research was conducted on a sample consisted of (83) students of enrolled in master's and doctoral guidance and counseling programs in the Saudi Arabia Kingdom, number of females were (55) student by (66.26%), and the number of males (28) student by (33.74%) of the sample there ages ranged between (27 - 45) year, with an average age (36.734) year, and a standard deviation (5.068). In order to achieve the aims of the current search researchers applied the Arab counseling self-efficacy Scale (Prepared by the researchers) on the research sample. The results revealed the presence of high level of counseling self-efficacy (dimensions the total score) among counselors trainees, also found signification statistical differences in the average scores of counseling self-efficacy (dimensions the total score) due to sex of the counselor, place of training, number of days of training, and the previous counseling experience. And also results showed that the male counselors trainees had a higher level of self-efficacy (dimensions the total score), also found high level in the counseling self-efficacy (dimensions the total score) among counselors trained at psychiatric hospitals than among trainees at schools, as well as the results revealed the presence of a high level of counseling self-efficacy among counselors trained for two days.
