Teaching Arabic Language for Non-native Speakers and Arabic Scholars Efforts

Abstract

This study focuses on teaching Arabic language for non-native speakers during pe-Islamic era, Islamic era and other Islamic eras. The study consists of two parts as follows: First part: The researcher discusses the importance of Arabic Language, features of Arabic Language and the motivations of learning Arabic language. Second part: The researcher focuses on the experience of the Arabic scholars in teaching Arabic language for non-native speakers. Some examples from pre-Islamic era, Islamic era, and schools of Arabic grammar; Besra and Kofa were presented. Also, some examples from Arabic scholars from Sebawyh, Ibn Jini and Ibn Khaldoon were quoted. Conclusion: The researcher concluded his study with the efforts of Arabic scholars and their teaching methods they used in teaching Arabic language for non-native speakers.
