Academic procrastination and its relationship to life stress among university youth
Abstract
The study examined the relationship between academic procrastination and life pressure. The final sample consisted of (338) students from Najran University with (215) male and (123) famle. The researcher prepared two took, namely the measure of academic procrastination and the measure of life pressure. A number of statistical methods were used such as percentage, mean, standard deviations, T-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, F-test, and linear regression analysis. The study found that the level of academic procrastination of the study sample was a verage level. The study also showed that there are no statistically significant differences in academic procrastination among students (males and females). There were no statistically significant differences in academic procrastination because of the degree of the study sample (Diploma, Bachelor). There were statistically significant differences in the second dimension in favor of diploma students at (0.05). There were also statistically significant differences between the students (high and lowjon academic procrastination on the axes of the life pressure scale, and the total for the academic procrastination. The study also found that there is a statistically significant relationship between academic procrastination and life pressure. The study abo found that academic procrastination in the study sample can be predicted through their grades on the life pressure scale. Finally, the study made a number of recommendations.
