A Proposed Vision to Bridge the Gap Between Strategic Planning and Performance in Saudi Universities: King Khalid University as a Case Study

Abstract

This research aims to present a proposed vision to bridge the gap between strategic planning and performance in Saudi universities. The research used the descriptive survey approach. The research population consisted of all faculty members at King Khalid University. The research was conducted on a random sample included (356) members. The research adopted the questionnaire as a main tool for collecting data from the sample, its researched the following results:

  1. The requirements included in this research are very important to bridge the gap between strategic planning and performance.
  2. There are no significant differences between the sample responses according to the difference in the college variable, while differences were found between their responses to their differences in the gender variable with regard to the design and implementation dimensions, as it was in favor of males in the design dimension, and in favor of females with the implementation dimension, while there were no differences according to this variable setup and configuration dimension.
  3. This research suggested a proposed vision to bridge the gap between strategic planning and performance in Saudi universities.
