The effcacy of cognitive behavioral counseling program to raise the level of psychological security among sample of children at social nursery home (Khamis Mishit)

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of a cognitive behavioral counselling program to increase the level of psychological security among sample of deprived children who live in a social nursery Home at Khamis Mushait. The researcher uses the semi experimental method. The sample of the study consists of 20 male and female deprived children from a social nursery Home their age ranges between 10 to 13 years. To achieve the objectives of this study the researcher uses the scale of psychological security prepared by Zineb Shugair (2005), and a cognitive behavioral counselling program to raise the awareness of psychological security among the study sample, prepared by the researcher. Validity and reliability of the measures employed in the study have been examined. To examine the hypotheses of the study the researcher uses the following statistical techniques: willkockson of two related samples for correlative groups (pre and post), (post and pre) for the group of the study. The study concludes to the following: presence of variances with statistical significance in the level of psychological security among the deprived children who are living in the social nursery home pre-and-post application of the counselling program. For the post- application program, there is no variances with statistical significance in the level of psychological security among deprived children who are living in the social nursery home after application of the program and after months of following up
