The Extent of Islamic Education Teacher's Practice of Basic Skills In Class Management In The Point Of View Of Secondary School Principals And Students In Jerash Governorate

This study aimed at recognizing the extent of Islamic education teacher's practice of the basic skills in class management in the point of view of the academic secondary school principals and students in Jerash governorate through answering the following questions: To what extent do teachers of Islamic education practice the basic skills in class management in the secondary school students' view point? Do students' perceptions of the extent of the Islamic education practice of the basic skills in class management differ according to gender, and class level (1st secondary. 2nd secondary) and branch of education (scientific, literary and IT)? What is the extent of the Islamic education teachers practice of the basic skills in class management in school principals' view point? Do the secondary school students' perceptions differ from those of the secondary school principal? Participants in this study were 485 male and female students from enrolled in Jerash directorate of education in the school year 2006/2007, and the sample of principal comprised42 headmasters and headmistresses. The instrument of study was a questionnaire which consisted of 55 items divided into six areas. The results of study were as following: -The Islamic Education teachers practice the skills of class management to a great extent in the point of the secondary school principals and to a moderate extent in the point of the secondary school students. -There are differences between the perception of males and females of the extent of their teachers practice of class management skills in favor of the males. There are also differences in the perception between the first secondary students and second secondary students towards their teachers' practice of class management skills in favor of the first secondary. The results revealed that there are differences between the perceptions of the secondary school students regarding the extent of the Islamic Education teachers" practice of class management skills due to the variable of branch of education at the level of significance. There is no difference between the perceptions of the academic secondary school teachers and those of the academic secondary stage students to the extent of the Islamic Education teachers practice of the class management skills.
