Institutionalization of Volunteer Work in Saudi Universities

This study aimed to define the requirements of institutionalizing volunteer work in Saudi universities in six areas (Standards of selecting volunteers, qualifying volunteers, mechanisms for attracting volunteers, volunteer rights, managing and organizing volunteer efforts, evaluating volunteer efforts). The descriptive approach (survey) has been used, and the questionnaire as a tool to collect data as well. Moreover, a simple random sample has been applied for faculty members at King Abdulaziz University and Tabuk. As a result, (314) members have responded to it. The most important results have been as the following: all the requirements for institutionalizing volunteer work in Saudi universities in all its axes; It achieved a degree of great importance with a total mean of (4.0382). Also, there are statistically significant differences at the level (α ≤0.05) between the responses of the sample members in the (volunteer qualification) axis, attributed to the variable of specialization in favor of (humanities). Furthermore, there are statistically significant differences at the level (α ≤0.05) between the responses of the sample members in the axes (Standards of selecting volunteers, mechanisms for attracting volunteers, management and organization of volunteer efforts), attributed to the gender variable in favor of females, while there are no statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≤0.05) between the responses of the sample members due to the rest of the variables in all axes.
