Abstract

The current study aimed at identifying the effect of a program based on multiple intelligences in improving life skills among secondary school students in Jazan. The sample of the study consisted of 64 third grade secondary students chosen from Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Secondary School at downtown Jazan Education Office. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control one; each of which consisted of 32 students. The researcher utilized the quasi-experimental approach. Life skills scale (prepared by the researcher) and a program based on multiple intelligences to improve life skills among secondary school students were utilized. Results of the study indicated that there are statistically significant differences at 0.01 level between the mean scores attained by the experimental group and those of the control group in the post measurement for all life skills dimensions in favor of the experimental group. Additionally, there are statistically significant differences at 0.01 level between the mean scores of the pre and post measurements of the experimental group for all life skills scale dimensions in favor of the post measurement. However, there are no differences between the mean scores of the post and sequential measurements of the experimental group for all life skills scale dimensions after finishing the program.
