The Mental Skills of Soccer Players in the Light of Some Variables

The study aimed to identify the distinctive mental skills to the football players in Palestine according to the variables of the class play, training, age, and the foot used in the play, and play position. To achieve this. the study was conducted on a sample of (160) players from the football players in Palestine represents (26.7%) of the original population of the study of their number (600) players. to collect study data and achieve their goals was to use descriptive method, and the measure of mental skills for athletes prepared by Smith et al (1995) and its Arabic version of Salem (2007). The results of the study that deals with the mental skills of soccer players in Palestine were very few where I got a percentage of (28.8%). It is clear also from the results of the study, self-confidence was ranked first in relative weight (41.8%). followed in second place after the management of anxiety relative weight (37.4%), and then came in third place after the focus relative weight (32.4%), while the after the performance under pressure in the fourth place relative weight (25%), followed after the problem solving in the fifth position relative weight (22.1%), and then came after the goal setting in the sixth and final relative weight (14.6%). As well as the results of the study that resulted in no statistically significant differences in mental skills distinctive to the football players in Palestine due to a variable degree in the play - training - foot used in the play - play center.
