The Reality of Internet of Things Technology and Its Applications In Education (Systematic Review)

The concept of "Internet of Things" (IOT) is one of the new concepts that utilize the Internet in various aspects of life, the most important of which is education. It will change the way of teaching. In addition, there are many challenges that hinder its use. This study aims to explore the most important features of this technology in education and its positive effects and the challenges that hinder its use. A systematic review applied that focuses on researches that study IOT in education, were published in the (Dar Al-Mandumah) database from (2019) to (2022), which was (48) studies. The results show that all studies agreed on the role of IoT in improving the efficiency and quality of education, and the services provided by the institutions in which this technology was applied. Where 75% of the studies agreed that IoT makes the learning environment a collaborative, interesting, smart, safe, healthy learning environment, and provides many solutions to educational problems. The result shows that the most important challenges which impeded the employment of IoT in education are privacy and security, and confidentiality of information, followed by the lack of awareness among the parties of the educational system and lack of acceptance. The study also came out with a set of recommendations and suggestions.
