Current Use of Administrative Empowerment and its Relationship to Job Satisfaction Among Academic Leaders of Qassim University

Abstract

This research aims to identify the extent of administrative empowerment among academic leaders of Qassim University; the extent of job satisfaction; the relationship between the extent of empowerment and the level of satisfaction among academic leaders of Qassim University; statistically significant differences between the research sample and the research variables (job, years of experience. College location). The researcher used the descriptive analytical design and the questionnaire as an information-gathering instrument. The research sample consisted of (30) Faculty Deans. (30) Vice Deans and (46) heads of an academic department. The findings of the research indicated that academic leaders administrative empowerment at Qassim University is achieved significantly. reaching a weighted average of scores (3.40) out of (5), and the extent of job satisfaction among academic leaders is generally very large, reaching a weighted average of scores (4.42) out of (5). The findings abo pointed to the positive relationship between academic leaders administrative empowerment and their job satisfaction that the greater the extent of empowerment is, the higher the extent of job satisfaction they have. Additionally, the academic leaders have greatly shown that they deserve the trust given to them by their superiors in terms of their abilities to perform the tasks assigned them. The university has to take into account the provision of material needs equitably among the colleges. The research also presented some recommendations and suggestions, including: the university should take into account providing financial resources to academic leaders to contribute to the further development and innovation; instructions and procedures given to academic leaders should be clear enough and not subject to different interpretations; and the university should provide support academic leaders in the case of unintended errors and assist them in finding appropriate solutions
