Leadership Confidence Behavior among Heads of Academic Departments at the Hashemite University and its Relationship with Organizational Loyalty based on Faculty Members' Perceptions

The present study aimed at exploring the degree of leadership confidence behavior among heads of academic departments and its relationship to the level of faculty members' organizational loyalty at the Hashemite University. A random sample of (331) faculty members was selected to respond to a two-part questionnaire measuring the constructs of the study.
The results of the study indicated high degree of leadership confidence behavior among heads of academic departments and statistically significant differences were detected in favor of males, scientific colleges, and associate and full professors. However, significant differences were not detected based on experience and graduation country. Moreover, the results indicated high level of faculty members' organizational loyalty and statistically significant differences were not detected in the level of organizational loyalty based on the demographic variables. Further, there was a positive correlation between the degree of leadership confidence behavior among the heads of academic departments and the level of faculty members' organizational loyalty. Finally, a number of practical and theoretical recommendations were provided for the field of the study.
