Abstract

This study aims to uncover the passions shapes and emotional path manifestations of the self in a book (Min Shathaia Al-Maa) [From the Fragments of Water] by Ibrahim Seabi, based on the semiotic of passions approach and some mechanisms of the narrative semiotics approach. The study includes an introduction, a theoretical background, and two sections. The first section addresses the passions shapes and the second analyses the emotional path manifestations of the self. The study concluded that a number of passions dominate this book, but the most prominent of them is the dominance of the passion of love, and the passion of sadness, in addition to the emotional path that was able to reveal the emotions and their sharpness and how they are seen from the viewpoint of society and the individual.
