The Effectiveness of Using the Learning-By-Play Strategy in Improving Educational Achievement in Mathematics Among Fifth-Grade Primary Students and Enhancing Their Attitudes Towards it

The current research aims to reveal the effectiveness of using the learning-by-play strategy in improving educational achievement in mathematics among fifth-grade primary school students and enhancing their attitudes towards it. The researcher used the Quasi-experimental method in his research, and the research sample consisted of (42) fifth-grade students in the primary stage in the governorate. Al-Ahsa in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to achieve the research objectives, the researcher prepared the research tools, which were: an attitude scale to measure students’ attitudes and inclinations towards mathematics, and an achievement test to measure the cognitive aspects and mathematical concepts related to their acquisition of the targeted skills, and The results of the research reached: There is a statistically significant difference at the significance level (0.05 ≥ α) between the average scores of the control group students and the average scores of the experimental group students in favor of the experimental group on the achievement test for the cognitive aspects related to mathematical concepts, and the existence of a statistically significant difference at the significance level. (0.05 ≥ α) in students’ attitudes in mathematics between the average scores of the control group students and the average scores of the experimental group in favor of the experimental group on the attitudes scale, In light of the research findings, the researcher recommended a number of recommendations: Among the most notable are:Adopting a playful learning strategy in teaching mathematics by integrating educational games into the school curriculum to teach mathematics concepts.
