Ibn Hisham's Grammatical Choices in His Book Altazkera (The Memento)

Abstract

This research deals with Ibn Hisham's grammatical choices in one of his most important books Altazkera (The memento) which is still missing. This book was abridged by Mohamed Bin Galal Eltabbany Alhanafy, so he kept us a great deal of this valuable book. Thus, this study is very important to know the views of Ibn Hisham in this book compared with his views in his other books Hence, this research is presented in an introduction a preface, three fields of research and a conclusion .In the preface I discussed Altazkera book of Ibn Hisham and its abridgment by Altabbany and the way of Ibn Hisham's choices, the statements used in his choices and the principles of his choices. In the first field of research I dealt with his choices that contradicted his views in his other books, in which I discussed ten issues. In the second field of research, I discussed his choices that were in consistence with his views in his other books, in which I discussed six issues. In the third field of research I dealt with his choices which he neither presented nor took a clear decision in his other books, in which I discussed four issues. Then the conclusion that includes the most important results I have reached.
